Maternity, gynaecology and children's care sit together on the Ved Road campus, with a neonatal intensive care unit and a separate paediatric intensive care unit on site. A baby who needs intensive care after delivery does not have to be moved to another hospital.
What this department treats
Antenatal care runs through the outpatient department, and the maternity and newborn units run alongside emergency and intensive care, which matters when a delivery does not go to plan.
- Antenatal care and routine check-ups
- Normal and caesarean delivery
- High-risk pregnancy monitoring
- Gynaecological surgery
- Newborn care and jaundice
- Premature and low-birth-weight babies
- Childhood infection and fever
- Children needing intensive care

What happens when you arrive
- Start at the general OPD. Between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm, pay the consultation charge and you will be seen. That charge includes the medicine prescribed for that day. In an emergency, go straight to accident and emergency instead.
- Bring what you have. Photo identification, any scheme or insurance card, and earlier prescriptions, scans or reports.
- Scheme check before admission. If you hold a Mukhyamantri Amrutum or Ayushman Bharat card, the counter verifies it before admission rather than at discharge.
- Rates are published. The same rate applies to every patient in a category. There is no negotiation at the counter and nothing to be gained by asking.
