In short

What happens during a dialysis session?

A dialysis session filters the blood when the kidneys can no longer do it, using a machine the patient is connected to for several hours at a time, usually more than once a week. Dialysis at Ved Road, Surat is free of charge for patients eligible under the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana.

Inside the dialysis unit

What a session involves, how long it takes, and who qualifies for it free under the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana. The single most asked question at this hospital, answered once, properly.

This film has not been made yet. What it would cover is set out below.

The film

What it covers

  • What the machine does, explained without jargon
  • How long a session takes and how often most patients come
  • What to bring, and what to eat before and after
  • Who qualifies for free dialysis under the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana
  • How to transfer if you are already on dialysis elsewhere
Why this one

Why it is worth making

Dialysis is the question this hospital is asked most often, and the answer gets repeated at the counter a dozen times a day. Filming it once, properly, means a family can watch it at home before deciding anything.

To shoot it

What filming needs from the hospital

  • Consent from any patient who appears, in writing
  • A nephrologist or senior nurse willing to speak on camera
  • Permission to film in the unit at a quiet hour

Phone footage shot steadily is worth more than nothing, so none of this waits on a production budget. Call 0261 2510050 to arrange it.
